Please note that we cant always gaurantee that we will be able to snorkel on the day as our Cape Vidal Snorkeling Adventure is greatly depending on conditions, swell size and your safety. Our meeting point for the Cape Vidal Snorkeling Adventure is at the little "fuel or petrol station" in Cape Vidal Resort. Even though the drive from St Lucia to Cape Vidal is only 32km, the game viewing is incredible and we suggest that you give yourself at least an hour and a half to get there. The road is tarred all the way to Cape Vidal. When driving into Cape Vidal resort, keep going till you get your first view of the Cape Vidal Beach on your left. Another 100 meters further down the road you will see the "Cape Vidal fuel station" on your right. This is where your friendly Cape Vidal Snorkeling Adventure Guides will be waiting for you. For your Cape Vidal Snorkeling Adventure you only need to bring your swimsuit, a towel and sunblock. We supply all the equipment needed. We are proud to offer you the best quality equipment in our field. For your Cape Vidal Snorkeling Adventure you will get a silicone mask and snorkel, set of fins and we do have wetsuits available at an additional fee of R50 per person. We also have a lifesaving rescue buoy in the water at all times to ensure your safety and if anyone feel the need for extra flotation or simply a quick rest. If you are planning on making a day of your time in Cape Vidal, we would suggest taking some lunch and refreshments along from St Lucia as the local shop in Cape Vidal only sell refreshments and snacks. Beware of the monkeys as they are the only criminals in Cape Vidal!!! There are no bank card facilities at the park entrance so be sure to bring enough cash!!! Sightings of blacktail, moonies, tropical halfbeak, convict surgeon, damsels, rubberlips, catface rockod, indian goatfish, karanteen, sand steenbras, lemonfish, common lionfish, rectangular triggerfish, moorish idol, butterflyfish and semicircle angelfish are common on most Cape Vidal Snorkeling Adventures. We also get to see green turtles, marbled electric rays and spotted eagle rays on good days.

Our famous guide will collect you from your Lodge at the pre arranged time. From your lodge in St Lucia it is only a 5 minute drive to the entrance gate of the Eastern Shore where your Safari will start. Your morning will be filled with informative conversation about the park and its ecology as well as the biology and social behaviours of the animals that you will encounter along the way to the very popular beach of Cape Vidal. Common sightings along the way include: Elephant, Buffalo, Rhino, Leopard, Hyena, Waterbuck, Kudu, Reedbuck, Red and Common Duiker, Bushbuck, Wildebeest and Zebra. On arrival in Cape Vidal you will be introduced to our highly experienced and rated marine crew! Here they will give you an in depth safety briefing on exactly what to expect and how to behave in the current conditions. They will hand you all the needed equipment and give you a couple of tips on how to use them correctly. From here it is into the water for just more than an hour where our guides will be pointing out all sorts of interesting species of fish, crayfish and octopus. Turtles are also a great highlight on lucky adventures! The Snorkeling Adventure afterwards get rounded off with a lovely warm drink and an insightful fish id session with our guides. After working up an appetite in the water your safari guide will be waiting for you in the picnic site with a mouthwatering braai! Lunch generally consist of stake, boerewors, salads, bread rolls and a surprise desert on the fire. Please remember to specify your dietary requirements on booking if you do prefer a vegetarian or vegan option. After lunch your guide will treat you to another informative game drive back to your lodge in St Lucia.

At Kosi bay mouth the quality of your snorkeling experience hugely depends on snorkeling at the exact correct tide to avoid strong currents and to have the best visibility that the day will offer. If snorkeling at Kosi bay mouth on the wrong tide the water will be green as the water will be flowing out of the system to the ocean. If snorkeling when the tide is pushing too hard, the current will be too strong to snorkel comfortably. Our guides will arrange to meet you at the perfectly ideal time to give you the best Snorkeling conditions that the given day will offer. From here you will be guided to our briefing area where you will be given a pre-briefing and given our "snorkel plan". Our guide will hand you a set of high quality snorkeling gear and give you a couple of basic tips to increase your enjoyment with the equipment in the water. After the briefing our guide will go introduce you to the magical underwater beauty of Kosi bay mouth! After your time in the water you will return with your guide to the briefing area for a lovely cup of coffee/ tea or hot chocolate whilst identifying all your sightings in our fish id books.
